House of Hope Programme
District
Perambalur
States
Tamil Nadu
Since 2007, the Human Upliftment Trust (HUT) has transformed the House of Hope orphanage, overcoming community resistance to establish a school and clinic. The orphanage, now with dedicated blocks for education, administration, and hostels, has gained community acceptance, and parents are eager to enroll their children. HUT's impact is evident in student success, with awards in District-level competitions and graduates pursuing higher education.
Notably, HUT breaks the stigma of HIV/AIDS in India by integrating 22 children into mainstream schools, providing them with education for a dignified life. Dr. Raja and Dr. Indhra have treated over 3000 AIDS patients. The organisation addresses health and education, rehabilitating 87 underweight children since 2007. Despite funding cuts, HUT maintains crucial care, earning the Trust from marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu.
