Karna Vidya Foundation is a non-profit, registered trust, led by the visually impaired experts and sighted volunteers with the motto "Empowerment of t Read morehe Visually impaired through employment” across Tamil Nadu and beyond. Through vocation centric courses, we have so far placed 80 visually impaired in IT, ITES, banks etc. The foundation provides training in employability skills and career counselling. Personalized guidance and counselling services are offered to individuals who have experienced a sudden onset of visual impairment, assisting them in navigating their professional paths.

  • Training Courses for Student / Job Seekers with Visual Impairments

    District

    Customer Care Executive Training: Empowering job seekers with essential employability skills for roles in customer care executive positions.
    Data Entry Operator (DEO) Training: Equipping job seekers with employability skill sets tailored for Data Entry Operator roles.
    Information Communication Technology (ICT) for Visual Impairment: Providing school and college students with visual impairment access to academic materials through technology.
    STEM Education for Visual Impairment (Science, Technology, English, Mathematics): Empowering 6th to 8th-grade students with visual impairment to access academic materials using technology in STEM subjects.
    Advanced Programming for Visual Impairment: Enabling school students with visual impairment to access academic materials using advanced programming technologies.

  • STEM Education For Visually Impaired

    Promote and provide training to students with visual impairment in the subjects of Math and Science, utilizing assistive devices, alternate modes, and other accessible materials.
    Objectives:
    1. Empower visually impaired individuals to pursue higher education in Math and Science.
    2. Enhance understanding of the principles of Science and Math in everyday activities.
    Training Details:
    • Training Days: Weekends
    • Mode of Training: Online and Offline
    • Participation from 3rd standard students and onwards.
    • Course Content: Concepts aligned with school textbooks from state and central boards.
    The aim is to foster a positive learning environment in Science and Math for students with visual impairment.

  • Office Automation / Information Communication Technology (ICT)

    District

    Candidates with visual impairment holding a graduation degree or an equivalent diploma (considered on an exceptional basis) are eligible to apply. The age limit for applicants is 35 years or below. Only visually impaired individuals who can commit full-time for the entire course and subsequent employment should apply.
    Objective: The program aims to empower visually impaired individuals with office automation skills for efficient handling of academic and office-related tasks. It also seeks to enhance logical, analytical, and management skills.

  • Basic Computer Application – Education (BCA)

    District

    Individuals with visual impairment holding a graduation degree or an equivalent diploma (considered on an exceptional basis) are eligible to apply. School and college students are also welcome to join. Only visually impaired individuals who can dedicate their full time to the entire course and subsequent employment should apply.
    Course Contents:
    1. Life skills – Social competencies, overcoming disability, managing conflicts, effective work habits, etc.
    2. Computers – Basic computer concepts, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
    3. Internet – Browsing, mailing, and data sourcing
    4. Assistive Technology/Devices
    5. Miscellaneous concepts – Scanning and reading, printing documents, physical connections of the computer, troubleshooting, etc.
