Shraddha Eye Care Trust (SECT) is a registered public charitable trust, which works for public eye healthcare under the social responsibility initiat Read moreive of Nethradhama Hospitals Pvt Ltd Bangalore. These hospitals have integrated a heart of service along with a deep sense of spiritual aspiration with the best practices of service and medicine. It is a 30 bedded eye hospital (not for profit) that caters to the eye care needs of the underprivileged sections of the society with the philosophy of “Every Citizen has right to sight". SECT was started in 2004 with a faith – "A willingness to ensure positive and quality eye care to the underprivileged". As a part of a strategic approach, SECT tries to reach the 'needy' community, by conducting community eye screening camps in the rural, tribal and slum areas for early identification of treatable and preventable blindness with the objective of giving the gift of sight to the individuals suffering from avoidable blindness with care and compassion.   Cataract eye screening camps are regularly conducted in various rural, tribal and urban locations. Patients identified for surgery are transported to base Hospital SECT for cataract surgeries, operated and dropped back. Camp patients, pre-operatively, are assessed by doctors and optometrist. It is a community- driven model where patients are provided with free food, accommodation and transportation during their stay with and at SECT.     We have so far reached 400000 populations affected by avoidable blindness with comprehensive eye screening and surgical camps of 2000 touching 70000 lives with gifting sight.     Shraddha Eye Care Trust’s (SECT) objective is to decrease the burden of blindness by rendering cross-subsidization services. SECT has been making a change in the lives of thousands of guests from poorest among poorer communities since 2004 towards a clear vision, to see better and in preventing avoidable blindness.
