‘Karunah Society for Development’ is founded with the vision to work for the welfare of needy communities in backward areas of the country, especiall Read morey Madhya Pradesh. Karunah’s aim is to work with the backward and needy people of society for their socio-economic upliftment. In 2015, we started working with communities in the area by building trust. Working with clear directions and systematic processes, we aim to make the lives of the communities better in terms of better health, skill education and sustainable livelihood.

  • Empowering the Nahar Community: Transforming Livelihoods in Prabhat Pattan

    District

    Since 2015, efforts have been directed towards uplifting the Nahar community in Prabhat Pattan village, Betul district. The community relies on Bhilwa (Semecarpus Anacardium) for their livelihood, primarily through collecting and processing its nuts. Women manually extract “Godambi,” a dry fruit, and produce oil from waste, despite health risks like painful blisters and scars. Low literacy rates, poverty, and widespread substance abuse hinder progress. With an average family income of ₹2,000–₹3,000, the initiative aims to improve education, healthcare, and sustainable employment opportunities, fostering a healthier and more self-reliant community.
