Mass Welfare Society is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that has been working since the last 37 years towards improving the quality of li Read morefe and empowerment of children and women to ensure their basic rights through education, protection, healthcare and creating a safe environment through direct support, referrals, linkages, campaigns, advocacy, and networking.  Over the period of time, Mass Welfare Society has been able to reach out to children and women living in vulnerable conditions in various slums and squatter colonies in Kolkata and North and South 24 Parganas of West Bengal, India. Our main thrust has always been to create an enabling environment to uphold the rights of each and every child through community participation and linkages.  Our main focus is on providing Educational, Nutritional and Healthcare support to around 500 slum children of Kolkata and also providing vocational skills training and creating employment opportunities to adolescent girls and destitute women living in the slums. We also organize Awareness Programmes for people of the local community and local key stakeholders on issues like Health & Hygiene, Child Rights, Child Protection, Right To Education, Women's Rights, Child Abuse and Exploitation, Gender Discrimination, Violence against women, Trafficking, Literacy, Environment, etc.  We are registered under the Society Registration Act and FCRA. All donations are exempted from Income Tax under 80G of IT Act Govt. of India. We have our own Child Protection Policy, HR Policy, Financial Management Policy, and Anti-Bribery Policy.
