Established in 1995 at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantrai Ashram, the Sivananda Institute of Health (SIH) strives to utilize the age-old discipline of Ayurveda, often known as The Science of Life, to heal and transform lives.
Since our founding, we have aided thousands of people worldwide by offering cleansing and rejuvenation therapies based on age-old wisdom and utilizing the best natural and organic ingredients. In addition to longer detoxification programs like Panchakarma and Slimming programs, we also provide single treatments.
Our goal has been to empower individuals to take control of their recovery through the Ayurvedic Wellness Course and to offer holistic healing experiences for the body and mind.

Sivananda Charitable Medical Camp
StateStates
Tamil Nadu
Kerala
The ashram has been striving to have a beneficial influence on the neighbourhood since its founding. This entails giving at least eighty workers a job, giving away free land and housing, paying for medical and educational costs, contributing to charitable causes, and attending to other sporadic requests from the general public.
To promote health and well-being, the ashram has been hosting a free Ayurvedic medical camp every month since 2010. Over the years, both residents and visitors from far and wide have come to love the camp. With eight to thirteen doctors present, we have been able to serve up to 1300 patients. The best herbal remedies are applied. Regarding the benefits, patient feedback has been favourable.

The hospital, which is five minutes' walk from the Ashram, serves 25,000 people annually and offers general and specialized care to roughly 60 patients each day. Mega Camps see between 600 and 1000 patients in a day, whereas Weekly Medical Camps see between 120 and 200 patients. Each of the seven villages covered has a designated Village Health Nurse who has received training and appointment, and who may provide referrals to the Medical Camp as well as short-term medication. In places where transportation may be an issue, patients are transported to and from the Medical Camps by ambulance.
Periodically, there are outpatient camps for general medical and surgery, diabetes, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, and surgery, as well as a mobile clinic that visits remote locations with limited transportation options. Additionally, the hospital offers door-to-door health education on dengue fever, diabetes, hypertension, and uterine and breast malignancies.
