Programs

  • Government School Construction

As part of its North Karnataka Flood Relief and Rehabilitation initiative, Aviratha undertook the construction of a Government Lower Primary School in the village of Shalinganoor, located in Gangavathi taluk within the Koppala district. Following the devastating floods of 2009 that submerged Shalinganoor, causing extensive damage to the existing school and public infrastructure, Aviratha responded by relocating the village and constructing a new school for the government. The innovative design of the new school reflects an eco-friendly approach, aligning with Aviratha's commitment to sustainable development.

  • Teaching aid donation

Aligned with the goal of enhancing the quality of primary education, Aviratha has consistently provided various teaching aids to government schools, particularly in the underprivileged regions of Karnataka. The recipient schools are those with which Aviratha has fostered a close working relationship spanning over a decade. The selection of schools is influenced by the active involvement of volunteers or donors.
To date, the following teaching aids have been generously donated:
    • Library books and racks
    • Subscriptions to magazines and newspapers
    • Science kits and laboratory equipment
In addition to these teaching aids, minor infrastructure improvements have been implemented based on the specific needs of the schools, including:
    • Installation of drinking water filters
    • Establishment of kitchen gardens
    • Provision of toilet plumbing requirements

  • Notebook distribution drive

The annual notebook distribution drive, a distinctive and enduring program, has emerged as a flagship initiative for Aviratha. This initiative is integral to Aviratha's broader commitment to enhancing the value of primary education and contributing to the development of school infrastructure. Key features of the program include:
    • Provision of various types of notebooks and stationery required for an entire academic year.
    • Targeting children enrolled in Government schools situated in socio-economically disadvantaged regions or those predominantly attended by students from socially marginalized groups.
    • In January of each year, Aviratha conducts a survey to identify potential beneficiaries and assess the necessary resources. Beneficiaries receive advance notice through school teachers. Subsequently, in July, volunteer teams deliver books directly to each child in their respective schools.
