Rural Foundation, Nandurbar is a registered non governmental organization (NGO) working in the various communities in the states of Maharashtra, Madhy Read morea Pradesh and Gujarat. Our operational areas are largely backward, hilly and tribal-dominated. These are geographically difficult to reach areas that make our work exclusive. We have been carrying out need-based welfare and integrated developmental programs for our socioeconomically marginalized communities including tribal (ST), and specifically with the women among these communities. We work for the enhancement of quality of life with integrated community-based approaches on health, education, environment and socio-economic development, our activities are based on the intensive participation of these communities.


Issue

Nandurbar Satpuda hill area of ​​Nandurbar district who come from tribal community and hill areas. Tribal society is a very backward society. Which are still dependent on their orthodox traditions of labor work so they migrate to another state. This affected social life and children's Education child marriage / two marriages/migration / addicted parents/dowry system type of problems created. how does this community in Regular sustain itself in its hometown it's a big issue in the Nandurbar district.

In our experience, we work on the basic rights of tribs Which gives each of a stable and Euality society atmosphere. Establish good living and clean habits Hitech Farming with healthy, quality education and provide higher education and/or vocational training and Financial family Management. They will also be encouraged to develop and express independence.

    Rukhamabai Balikashram is a Girls Children Home for tribal girls in the Akkalkuwa Taluka of Nandurbar District. The home was established by Mr. Prakash.B. Patil who originally belongs to Gujarat. Rukhamabai was started in 2007 under the aegis of Mr. Patel’s ‘Rural Foundation’. While working on several projects in Nan durbar, Mr. Patel learnt about a major issue in the tribal areas of Nan durbar. In those areas, typically if one of the parent died, the other one would abandon the child

    and get remarried. The region is inhabited by Vasave and Valvi sub tribes of Bheel tribal community. The home presently houses 45 girls and 8 staffs. These girls come from tribal families where the parents and family members are mainly agricultural workers, marginal farmers, migrants who migrate for 6 months for sugarcane cutting or work in brick kilns.
