Village Welfare Society (VWS) is an environment friendly socio-economic-cultural development organization, started off in West Bengal in the year 1982 Read more and established itself development actor to alleviate poverty. It has been working with the marginalized and disadvantaged segment of society focusing specially on women, children and aged persons belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and minority groups in West Bengal and Bihar. Since inception, endeavours in past 42 years have been all-inclusive with services in the areas of Education, Health Care, Old Age Care, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Nutrition and Livelihood Security and Employability Skill Training for YOUTH, WOMEN and FARMERS.

Skill Development and employability enhancer
A primary focus area of the Village Welfare Society (VWS) revolves around offering skill-based training to individuals in need. Through this initiative, candidates are provided with the opportunity to undergo training as beauty advisors, enabling them to secure employment in the thriving beauty and wellness industry. Particularly, women from minority communities are prioritized for these training opportunities, equipping them with the necessary skills and certifications to unlock a realm of new possibilities.
Addressing youth unemployment is a significant societal challenge, often exacerbated by a lack of technical or professional expertise, hindering access to employment opportunities. These skill development programs serve as a vital means of empowering youth, and VWS is actively working to enhance this initiative further. Rogi Sahayata Kendra
Operated by the Village Welfare Society (VWS) in collaboration with the District Health and Family Welfare Samity (DHFWS), this initiative is based at Satyabala ID Hospital in Ghusuri, Howrah. Representing another significant effort by the organization to assist marginalized and socio-economically challenged populations, the Rogi Sahayata Kendra aims to offer a range of information and essential services to patients and their families, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In the year 2022-2023, VWS supported approximately 1534 indoor patients, 1002 emergency patients, and around 5102 outdoor patients through this initiative.
