The major focus of the trust is to provide food, medical aid and basic education for weaker sections of the society, protection and betterment of the environment and stray animals. “Service to mankind is service to god” . At times, we all resolve to put in practice, but the modern day busy schedules silently erase our human face. But, there is a way for you to resolve by working with us which is in the forefront of serving the poor people with special emphasis to the people living at rural areas of our country. Every person has a right to live life better. But when it comes to rural areas, it may be tough path for rural communities in terms of financial, social and educational aspects. Aakanshaa Foundation Trust addresses this gap by undertaking appropriate support programs, initiatives and social projects. The trust enables many of us to reach out to rural people and make a difference in their lives. We have just started, so our main focus is the various regions of West Bengal. However, with the active support from kindhearted individuals and organizations, our Trust has evolved itself and taken up the responsibility of rural areas in larger perspective. The Trust now has the following broad areas of activity including: ·        Child Welfare and Education services ·        Women Welfare Services ·        Environmental Welfare Services ·        Medical Services ·        Natural Calamities Relief ·        Animal welfare Services Activities of the Charitable Trust Since Incorporation on 24/01/2020 As you are all aware, due to the lock-down caused by COVID-19 pandemic, many people are helpless and starving nationwide. We have successfully delivered 1144 dry food packets to 1111 families consisting of Rice, Red Lentils, Potato, Soya Chunks, Wheat Flour, Mustard Oil, Soap, Mask, Candle, Matchbox, Biscuits, Medicine etc. and fed 2149 meals (Rice, meat and eggs mixed, in some cases Pedigree, Whiskas etc.) to stray dogs and cats within 12.04.2020 to 17.10.2020 with our little savings and contributions from our kind hearted friends. Places include Lucknow (U.P), Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas (West Bengal). We have also started the delivery of new/used clothes to those who are in real need, we have supported 14 adult and 40 children by far since 2.10.2020. We have become an official support partner for the Enabling Livelihood Enriching Lives program initiated by ICICI Academy for Skills, which has been launched in 2013 by the ICICI Foundation, and sourced them with 40 candidates by far, for their free training, certification and placement assistance program for the unemployed youth aged 18-30, since 3.10.2020. We firmly believe that the exceptional heritage of India is its strong tradition of giving. This is rooted in the historical, social and religious traditions of India. Mahatma Gandhi stated that the “best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Swami Vivekananda emphasized - For one’s liberation, one should serve the society. The more we come out and do good to others, the more our hearts will be purified, and God will be in them.”
