Joy Academy Programme
District
Jalpaiguri
States
West Bengal
The Joy Academy, backed by a UK couple through the GivingWorks Foundation, began in late 2019 with the construction of five classrooms and two toilets in Ajadanga, Mechi Basti, within Jalpaiguri district. It aims to provide educational support to underprivileged children from backwards and impoverished communities in this forest village. Many of these children face financial constraints and previously had to walk 5 kilometres to reach the nearest school. The academy stands as a beacon of hope, offering education to these deprived children and the surrounding forest area. Trinity Foundation aims to make the project self-reliant and sustainable soon. Presently, it benefits 30 children.
