Vaisakhi, alternatively pronounced as Baisakhi, holds significance for both Hindus and Sikhs, signifying the commencement of the Hindu solar New Year. Occurring on the first day of the month of Vaisakha, this historical and religious festival is traditionally observed on the 13th or 14th of April each year within Hinduism. For the past five years, the organisation has been actively participating in the celebration of this festival, dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural and heritage aspects associated with Vaisakhi.

  • Elderly Care

A significant number of elderly individuals find themselves abandoned by their families and relations, viewed as burdens and life challenges by co-family members. Unfortunately, these seniors often endure insufficient care, insults, and other forms of mistreatment, rendering many of them destitute. Some are compelled to resort to begging, while others grapple with severe difficulties as they are no longer able to earn for their upkeep due to the challenges posed by aging. These elderly individuals face health issues resulting from both their age and the hardships they endure, including hunger and other health-related problems. Securing even a single meal daily becomes a formidable challenge for them, given their frail health and limited resources.

  • Light A Lamp In A Slum Child’s Life

The families of the children under the organisation’s care have been significantly impacted by the ongoing pandemic. This year, faced with a scarcity of corporate funds, the organization relies entirely on contributions from individual donors to support the students' scholarships. The commitment of the organization extends to elevating the standards of education and literacy in India, particularly by empowering underprivileged children to achieve their fullest potential. The organization manages 25 slum education centres, catering to over 7000 children ranging from kindergarten to the 5th grade.

  • Donate Hygiene Kit

In India, only 36 per cent of women utilize sanitary pads during their menstrual cycles. When a girl encounters difficulties in effectively managing her period, it can lead to various challenges affecting both her physical and mental well-being. Beyond the risk of infections, inadequate menstrual hygiene significantly impacts her education, self-esteem, and confidence. Most women globally rely on menstrual products for an average of 4-6 days per month, resulting in a substantial monthly generation of plastic waste. This highlights a concerning environmental impact associated with the widespread use of such products.

The primary aim of the Tree Hug initiative is to raise awareness among individuals within society about the critical role trees play in nature, emphasizing the imperative need to preserve them for our survival. The overarching message conveyed is to 'Protect trees instead of cutting them down.' Vishav Satsang Sabha initiated this cause on 15 August 2016, recognizing the potential health benefits associated with engaging in the act of Tree Hugging.
