    In response to the June 2013 flash floods catastrophe, DHARA has partnered with the Gender Issue Cell of ATI Nainital, supported by the Women and Child Development Department of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, to facilitate capacity building and livelihood support initiatives, currently operational in District Bageshwar. Through this collaboration, the organization has established 30 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with a total of 335 members actively participating in various micro-finance and income-generating activities. Additionally, DHARA has mobilized the community to form Farmer, Income Generating Activity (IGA), and User groups, fostering sustainable livelihood practices. The organization has implemented a monitoring mechanism, effectively utilized by the community to ensure the long-term sustainability of the program.

Impact

DHARA's social development activities have touched the lives of 18,000 families, 15,000 farmers, covering nearly 812 Gram Panchayats and 926 villages in Bageshwar, Almora, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar, and Nainital districts in Uttarakhand.
