The Society for Rehabilitation of Visually Challenged (SRVC) is committed to the rehabilitation of individuals with visual challenges. Comprising like Read more-minded individuals, SRVC actively empowers the visually challenged by seeking new employment opportunities in unconventional fields, utilizing technology, and providing essential training. The organisation undertakes diverse projects such as Orchestra, Data Entry, Telemarketing, Medical Transcription, Call Centre Jobs, Counselling, Foreign Language Assistance, Tea Tasting, Wine Tasting, and Assaying. It also promotes sporting abilities in Blind Football, Blind Cricket, Powerlifting, Athletics, etc. By fostering public awareness and empowerment, SRVC aims to contribute to the development of an inclusive environment, fostering social integration. One of its primary objectives is to bring together talented visually challenged sports enthusiasts, allowing them to represent their state/country, gain recognition, and access employment opportunities. This comprehensive approach underscores SRVC's dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of the visually challenged by expanding their horizons and encouraging societal acceptance.

Telecalling Centre Programme
Envision Trust, a registered Kochi-based organisation has been pioneering a unique initiative since June 2016—employing trained visually challenged individuals for call center and back-office operations. This South Indian project, almost exclusively executed by differently-abled individuals, accommodates 22 telecallers at a centrally located Ernakulam facility. Partnering with Vodafone from July 2016 to Dec 2017 and subsequently working with Asianet since Jan 2018, the call centre focuses on postpaid sales, renewal processes, and achieving monthly targets. The fully furnished centre ensures a comfortable working environment, equipped with accessible computers, dedicated servers, and amenities like air conditioning.

Blind Football Encouragement Programme
In 2013, SRVC initiated the first Blind Football team in Kerala and played a pivotal role in establishing the inaugural Indian National Blind Football team, which actively participates in various international tournaments. SRVC facilitated the creation of the 'Indian Blind Football Federation' (IBFF) with their support, focusing on the development of blind football. Affiliated with the Indian blind sports association (IBSA), the Paralympics Committee of India (PCI), and the All India Football Federation (AIFF), IBFF works to nurture blind football talents in India. Additionally, SRVC contributed to establishing the first Para Sports Academy and vocational skills training centre in Kochi since Sept '17.

Programme to Encourage Blind Musicians
SRVC has united skilled musicians from various parts of the state to establish "Heart2Heart," an orchestra exclusively comprising visually challenged members. This three-piece band has showcased their talents in over 400 shows, including international performances. Currently, the band is engaged in musical assignments at Le Meridian Hotel and Aster Medicity. "Heart 2 Heart" has graced stages in Tuticorin, Chennai, Thrissur, and Kochi, sharing platforms with renowned celebrities. All earnings generated from these performances go directly to support the artists involved.

Livelihood - Resouce Centre Programme
In December 2014, SRVC initiated a Computer Training and Resource Centre at the Chavara Cultural Centre near South Railway Station, Ernakulam. This centre provides intensive computer training for visually challenged individuals in 8-month batches, aiming to make them job-ready for employment across companies in the state. Focused on Communication Skills, Computer Skills, and Mobility Skills, this project intends to create awareness about the employability of the visually challenged, fostering an inclusive environment for social integration. SRVC identifies areas where visually challenged individuals can excel with proper training and support, emphasizing their strengths in sound, speech, music, memory, and static-position tasks.
