The organisation’s focus is on enhancing governance transparency, accountability, and building the capacities of various stakeholders. Despite the region's abundance of resources, the impoverished and marginalized segments of society struggle to access basic necessities and engage with the wider social fabric with dignity. There exists a pressing need for qualitative and comprehensive efforts in the development and welfare of the poor, neglected, marginalized, and underprivileged sections, including children, women, the elderly, scheduled castes, tribes, and other vulnerable segments of society. Recognizing the severity of social inequality and governance deficiencies, a group of social activists established "Sadhana Foundation" as a trust committed to equality, empowerment, and meaningful engagement. The foundation is poised to initiate interventions that bring about positive change in the prevailing circumstances. Objectives: The objective of the organisation is to promote and cultivate youth leadership across diverse spheres of life. It aims to work towards the comprehensive development—socio-economic, health, education, and other facets—of tribal communities, scheduled castes, rural poor, slum dwellers, and any other category of people in need, with a particular focus on women. The organisation’s goals include conducting research projects related to environment, health, education, economy, and various social and human rights, including women's issues. The efforts are aimed at reducing violence, abuse, and injustice directed towards children, women, and the elderly. Furthermore, it seeks to provide financial assistance, including scholarships, stipends, prizes, rewards, allowances, fellowships, and other forms of support to social activists dedicated to social empowerment, change, and anti-corruption movements. As part of its commitment, it strives to establish and manage facilities such as creches, orphanages, hostels, boarding schools, and old age homes, with a special emphasis on those from underprivileged sections of society. Additionally, it endeavours to promote art and culture through study, research, documentation, and promotional programs.

Awareness Program on Gender and Gender-Based Violence for Hostel Students
The Secretary of Sadhana Foundation actively participated in two awareness programs on gender and gender-based violence for hostel students. Remarkably, all the hostel residents took part in these programs, openly sharing their personal experiences of various types of violence they have encountered. To enhance their understanding, documentary images on the aforementioned topics were presented.
Students from various districts also discussed societal and cultural barriers hindering societal progress. The engagement concluded with enthusiastic participation in group discussions and presentations by the students. -
Youth Leadership Capacity Building Camp
The three-day training program aimed at enhancing the leadership qualities of young social activists and students with a social orientation. Sixty students actively participated in the program, receiving training in six thematic areas: Indian economy and issues of employment; social movements and issues of positive discrimination; constitution and rights; tools of accountability and participatory governance; youth aspirations and the agenda for the 21st century; emerging challenges, gender issues, and alternative solutions.
The trainers employed various methods to make the training participatory, minimizing the use of traditional lecture methods. Instead, small documentaries addressing emerging issues and problems were shown to the participants, and group work assignments were given to facilitate expression from participants in various areas. -
Role of Women in Social Progress
StateSadhana Foundation in Bhubaneswar and Narishakti Trust in Jagatsinghpur collaborated to conduct a full-day workshop at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, Patapur, Jagatsinghpur, focusing on the significant role of women in social progress. The workshop delved into various forms of violence perpetrated by both individuals and states, including rape, domestic violence, sexual harassment, acid attacks, female infanticide, prenatal sex selection, obstetric violence, and mob violence. Participants engaged in discussions about harmful customary and traditional practices, such as honour killings, dowry violence, marriage by abduction, forced marriage, sexual violence, forced abduction, and women trafficking. The gathering provided a platform for over 200 women leaders who actively shared their experiences and insights into the challenges they face in their daily lives.
