Awareness Program on Gender and Gender-Based Violence for Hostel Students
The Secretary of Sadhana Foundation actively participated in two awareness programs on gender and gender-based violence for hostel students. Remarkably, all the hostel residents took part in these programs, openly sharing their personal experiences of various types of violence they have encountered. To enhance their understanding, documentary images on the aforementioned topics were presented.
Students from various districts also discussed societal and cultural barriers hindering societal progress. The engagement concluded with enthusiastic participation in group discussions and presentations by the students. -
Youth Leadership Capacity Building Camp
The three-day training program aimed at enhancing the leadership qualities of young social activists and students with a social orientation. Sixty students actively participated in the program, receiving training in six thematic areas: Indian economy and issues of employment; social movements and issues of positive discrimination; constitution and rights; tools of accountability and participatory governance; youth aspirations and the agenda for the 21st century; emerging challenges, gender issues, and alternative solutions.
The trainers employed various methods to make the training participatory, minimizing the use of traditional lecture methods. Instead, small documentaries addressing emerging issues and problems were shown to the participants, and group work assignments were given to facilitate expression from participants in various areas. -
