Life Wins Foundation was founded in the year 2017 with an objective to create a cancer aware society by dissemination of relevant information about Ca Read morencer; Breast & Cervical Cancer, in particular, targeting the most vulnerable underprivileged section of the society, enablement in detecting the disease early and necessary support towards the fight against cancer.  Cancer is the leading cause of death globally, taking a heavy toll on human lives and severely impacting families of cancer patients as they invariably faced with mental agony and the heavy cost of treatment. Most of the patients who are diagnosed with cancer are in the advanced stages of its growth, leaving very little hope of their survival for long. Prevention and early detection is the only way to save the precious life. What we do Life Wins Foundation is taking early steps in pursuit of its overall mission of achieving a cancer aware society. The foundation has so far conducted several screening and awareness camps in association with the Indian Cancer Society and has touched more than 500 lives; all from the underprivileged section of the society.  We target to intensify our efforts and conduct many more cancer screening camps targeting underprivileged women in Mumbai and Maharashtra. Our focus remains on improving the well-being quotient amongst women and creates awareness about the benefits of regular health checks after attaining 40. In our baseline survey, we have found that women tend to ignore their health and are more proactive in addressing health issues amongst their family members. Through these camps, we can mobilise door to door campaigns in creating awareness about the spreading menace of cancer and precautions to be exercised.  Activities 1. Screening and awareness camps 2. Financial support for the initial investigation of the patients mostly referred by Tata Memorial Hospital. Vision We at Life Wins Foundation aim to create a society that is cancer-aware, especially the underprivileged section of the society. We work towards our aim by disseminating relevant information about the dreaded disease, enabling people in early detection of the disease and providing necessary support towards the fight against cancer. At Life Wins Foundation we are dedicated to: Creating and spreading awareness about cancer prevention and early detection among underprivileged sections of the society by organising mobilization meetings in communities, using audio-visual presentations and verbal interactions through charts with pictures. Organizing periodic screening camps at a nominal cost for those who can pay and free for the underprivileged. Facilitating access to the hospitals and initial medical treatment for individuals detected with cancer from below poverty line (BPL) strata of the society. Seeking and fostering collaborations with like-minded NGOs, agencies and other philanthropic institutions for enhanced outreach and sustained support towards the cause that our foundation champions.
