    States

    Tamil Nadu

ACDS aims to ensure the implementation of UNCRC and Child Rights by empowering Rights Holders. To achieve this, it promotes Children's Panchayat, enhancing participatory rights. Children undergo training on Child Rights Sensitization to increase their capacity and involvement in child rights perspectives. These Panchayats are established in specific project areas like Mamallapuram, involving children aged 12-18. Following CRC training, members receive guidance on organizational development within the Children Panchayat framework, with emphasis on maintaining transparency through proper documentation. Monthly meetings are held to address children's issues, guided by the four rights of UNCRC, with Apex Leaders representing the overall process. Issues are resolved collaboratively, with involvement from CRPF or Elected Panchayat as needed.

  • Promotion of Child Rights Protection Forum

    District

    Kanchipuram

    States

    Tamil Nadu

ACDS actively promotes Child Rights Protection Forums (CRPFs) across villages to enforce and monitor child rights and protection. Community-based organisations and government officials are invited for training on UNCRC and Child Development, focusing on key areas like corporal punishment, education rights, and child protection measures. CRPF members, comprising representatives from various sectors, are empowered to implement and monitor child protection measures. Regular meetings are held to assess the child rights situation, with emphasis on transparency and documentation. CRPF leaders are equipped through further education processes, covering organisational procedures, advocacy measures, and the functions of CRPF. ACDS has facilitated the establishment of 45 CRPFs, empowering leaders to advocate for children's rights effectively. These forums serve as vital links at the village level, supported by local volunteers under ACDS's facilitation.
