Social Welfare Agency & Training Institute (SWATI) has started the journey in the year 1999, completed its twenty-two years in the field of social Read more welfare/ community development work as a non-government organization. Now SWATI is not just an organization but a platform of community to raise their voice for rights, plan for their development, and to implement the works in a participatory way. The focus activities of the organization were Natural Resource Management, Community Health, and the promotion of CBOs. Gradually it strategically extended the operational area to Presently, it presents in 4 districts, 4 urban local bodies, 15 blocks with covering 753 villages with a major target population of Tribals & PVTG, New Born Baby, Pregnant & Lactate Mothers, Children, PLHIV, Physical Challenged (Dibyang) & Transgender, Adolescent & Youth, Women & Wage Labour & Migrants.
Action
SWATI promotes sustainable livelihoods through rational management of natural resources and life skill development, and advocates for socio-economic empowerment, accountable governance and self-reliance.

SWATI has formed Village Development Committees in 200 villages, 3 farmers produce companies, 10 water users groups, 135 farmers groups, 228 rural women SHGs, 940 urban women SHGs, 40 cluster level federations, and other community groups in its working areas.

SWATI's vision is a healthy and self-reliant community life with dignity ensuring equal opportunity, rights, liberty, justice that enables participation and informed decision-making. Its mission is capacitating weaker sections, especially women and tribals, through skill building, leadership development, micro credit, and natural resource management.

Advancing Sustainable Development Through Integrated Community Empowerment
SWATI, with its extensive grassroots experience, has successfully implemented a range of community-focused programmes spanning livelihood generation, natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, community and adolescent health, HIV & AIDS awareness, and women empowerment. Its initiatives also cover early childhood education, skill development, and youth mobilization, underpinned by issue-based advocacy and institution building. The programme timeline highlights SWATI’s consistent and impactful engagement with communities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating a holistic approach to inclusive development and long-term societal transformation.
