The Raza Foundation, established in 2001 by the renowned modern Indian artist Late Sayed Haider Raza, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to arts, Read moreculture, and ideas. It actively creates spaces for dialogue through talks, panel discussions, exhibitions, concerts, publications, and fellowships for young talent, fostering research into the works of masters and contemporary cultural issues. The Foundation hosts nearly a hundred activities across 20 cities each year, providing a vibrant platform for Indian classical dance, music, literature, contemporary art, and regular exhibitions of Raza's own work and that of his peers. It also offers financial support for various festivals, conferences, and publications related to the arts, literature, architecture, and more. The Raza Foundation's core programmes, complemented by projects like the Raza Fellowship and Annual Memorial Lectures, aim to broaden the audience for the arts, support emerging artists and writers, and foster connections between different artistic forms and traditions, both nationally and internationally. In addition to its extensive cultural programmes, the Raza Foundation is committed to the publication of 200 Hindi books on topics like Gandhiana, philosophy, arts, culture, poetry, translations, and biographies by the end of 2021, marking the centenary year of Raza. The Foundation has collaborated with various public organisations, including the India International Centre, the India Habitat Centre, Triveni Kala Sangam, the Charles Correa Foundation, and Dhrupad Vartol, among others, to facilitate a rich exchange of ideas and creativity. These diverse activities and collaborations aim to engage informed and sensitive audiences, nurturing a deep appreciation for the arts and stimulating meaningful dialogues within the creative and reflective communities.
