The Friends of Sick Association, founded by AiR Humanitarian Homes, operates three destitute homes in Bengaluru, located at Bannerghatta, Chikkagubbi, Read more and Chandapura. Since its inception in 1998, it has provided timely medical assistance and treatment to thousands of underprivileged and abandoned individuals. Over the past two decades, the organisation has offered basic medical care, and emotional support, and facilitated medical procedures and surgeries for over 50,000 people in need. It has also supplied prosthetic limbs or wheelchairs to the physically challenged and offered treatment for severe illnesses such as AIDS and cancer, aiming to ensure a life of dignity for its residents. Furthermore, the organisation focuses on rehabilitating patients and reuniting them with their families, empowering them to become self-sufficient through employment opportunities. By aiding in their recoveries, the Friends of Sick Association strives to instill independence and dignity in every individual under its care. Contributions to their cause are welcomed to continue their journey of humanitarian, inspirational, and spiritual work.

Impact

The Friends of Sick Association has a significant impact, providing shelter to over 800 individuals currently while serving more than 500 people weekly, with 50+ physiotherapy sessions and 60+ counselling sessions conducted each week.

Programs

  • Rescue Programme

    The organisation engages in rescuing sick and abandoned individuals from the streets, providing treatment and rehabilitation for them to lead a normal life. It operates a 24x7 helpline, enabling people to reach out when identifying those in need. Dedicated service teams deploy ambulances to pick up individuals reported via the helpline and other channels.

  • Treatment Programme

    The organisation assesses individuals referred, brought, or rescued for medical and mental conditions at AiR Humanitarian Home, Bannerghatta. Those needing urgent care are facilitated for hospital admission. Following treatment, they return to the home for recovery and ongoing support, with a commitment to providing every individual with the opportunity for a fulfilling life.
