Arangham makes a conscious effort to produce art that "speaks" to the current day. While some work is created specifically for young audiences and will be performed in schools in Chennai with great impact through the use of theatre, music, and dance, organisations that seek Arangham's creative support to further their noble efforts of service and rehabilitation of the physically and mentally challenged are also the recipients of specially commissioned work.
To foster stronger ties of love and understanding between patients, families, and the general public, several Chennai-based NGOs, including The Banyan, CAN STOP (Cancer - Support Therapy to Overcome Pain), SCARF (Schizophrenia Research Foundation), Ability Foundation, NAB (National Association for the Blind), DESH (Deepam Educational Society for Health), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, have collaborated with Anita Ratnam and Arangham Dance Theatre. Arangham has given them special performances at fund-raising events.
