  • Genebank Programme

    Established in 1972, the ICRISAT Genebank in India preserves over 129,000 germplasm accessions from 11 essential crops, including Sorghum and Chickpea. The Genebank maintains a diverse array of landraces, breeding lines, and wild relatives, aids breeding programs, and facilitates global collaboration through extensive seed distribution and knowledge sharing.
