CERE’s Urban Afforestation Project (UAP) enhances green coverage in Indian cities by assisting companies, organisations, and individuals in reducing their carbon footprint. The project calculates carbon sequestration at each plantation site using a scientific approach that considers species type, sapling age, and growth projections over 5, 10, or 15 years. Both sponsored and private plantations receive carbon sequestration assessments, with certification provided upon completion. The assessment methodology, verified according to ISAE 3410 standards, aligns with the GHG Protocol developed by WRI and WBCSD.
