About

DaanUtsav, previously known as Joy of Giving Week, is India's annual festival promoting philanthropy, celebrated from October 2nd (Gandhi Jayanti) to Read moreOctober 8th. Launched in 2009, it unites people from different backgrounds—students, professionals, celebrities, and media figures—to engage in acts of generosity. The celebrations vary, from small gestures like hosting ice cream parties to large-scale efforts such as "Gift Compassion," where over 10,000 school children exchange gifts each year. By 2016, the festival's impact had expanded significantly, with over 1,500 events taking place across 200 cities, demonstrating its nationwide reach and popularity. Originally branded by EuroRSCG India, it was renamed DaanUtsav in 2013 to foster a better understanding of the festival’s purpose and to promote inclusivity. This change reflects its growing appeal across India's diverse socio-economic spectrum.
