The Indira Sivasailam Foundation hosted the Anwesha – Bala Vidwan Contest 2019 as a precursor to the annual Indira Sivasailam Endowment Concert at The Music Academy, Madras. Launched in 2018, the contest provides a platform for emerging Carnatic music artists to display their talents. This year, the event featured categories for children aged 10-15 in vocal and instrumental (flute and violin) and introduced an open category for ages 16-20, showcasing impressive performances across all categories.

The Indira Sivasailam Endowment Concert is a highlight of The Indira Sivasailam Foundation’s calendar, celebrating the Navaratri season and the talents of Carnatic musicians. For over eight decades, The Music Academy has been a revered institution in Carnatic music.
