SMGVS has assessed the water scarcity challenges in the region and constructed various soil and water conservation (SWC) structures, including anicuts, mini percolation tanks, percolation tanks, recharge shafts, water absorption tanks, LSCDs, and dykes, to support both human and livestock needs. These holistic interventions have halted the decline in water availability, improving conditions and making local communities and ecosystems more resilient to the rapidly changing water regime in the semi-arid areas of Rajasthan. A total of 11,289 hectares have been protected from erosion, and water conservation practices have been initiated. Additionally, 506,000 cubic meters of water storage capacity has been created through the SWC structures.
