About

  • Headquarters

    Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu

  • Since

    2019

Cuddalore, a coastal district in Tamil Nadu, has shown remarkable resilience in the face of multiple calamities, including the 2004 Tsunami. Despite a Read more literacy rate of around 78%, rural areas face significant educational challenges, particularly for girls. Factors such as socio-economic pressures, early marriage, and a lack of adequate facilities contribute to low female literacy rates, with many girls dropping out of school. Women in the district face livelihood struggles, with over 50% working in informal, low-paying jobs, earning under INR 5,000 per month. Limited access to vocational training and financial resources further hampers their economic empowerment. To address these challenges, it is crucial to focus on empowering women and children in Cuddalore, helping them overcome barriers and realize their full potential for a brighter, more prosperous future.
