The SatH-DO program empowers children from low-resource backgrounds to continue learning at home, especially during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. By encouraging family involvement, even for non-English speakers, this initiative fosters a supportive learning environment. Its bilingual, colorful books are designed to help children build foundational English vocabulary, reading, and speaking skills through engaging activities. Embedded audio tracks simulate classroom learning, making education accessible in any setting. Volunteers and private tutors can easily facilitate learning sessions with SatH-DO’s TLM packets, making this program a scalable, impactful solution for children’s education.

The Teacher Assistance Program (TAP) supports government primary school teachers in teaching English to grades 3 to 7. It offers practical methods aligned with the government-issued textbooks, helping teachers enhance their skills while teaching. TAP includes GET-Videos, accessible through QR codes, which present animated, bilingual video lessons for students, explaining difficult words and reinforcing comprehension. Currently available in Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra as K-GET, C-GET, and M-GET, respectively, these videos cater to local needs. TAP also includes the Teacher Empowerment Program (TEP), providing audio pronunciation support and a resource book with translations and lesson explanations for grades 1 to 7.

The REAP program is delivered by government school teachers and is specifically designed to suit their needs. It introduces simple, innovative teaching methods that build both competence and confidence. With a modular format, teacher training is completed in just 10 hours. The program includes scripted bilingual lesson plans and a full set of teaching-learning materials—such as student books, tests, music players, soundtracks—and ensures ongoing support and monitoring throughout its implementation.

PEP is mainly implemented in urban schools and is led by English-speaking corporate professionals, college students, and community volunteers with limited time. Trained by Step Up For India, each volunteer contributes just 10 to 20 hours annually. The program follows a structured, engaging approach that helps government school children quickly reach their English textbook proficiency levels.
