Improving watershed management - The United Way of Chennai, in collaboration with the Caterpillar Foundation, engaged in a participatory waterbody restoration project in Krishnagiri and Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.

By actively involving the local community in monitoring and evaluating the project’s progress, residents are gaining awareness of best practices for maintaining and preserving water resources. Providing clean and safe drinking water - The Caterpillar Foundation has partnered with charity: water, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing clean and safe drinking water. This collaboration supports the construction of piped water systems, bringing clean water to underserved communities most in need.

In Odisha, charity: water is working with Gram Vikas, a local organization committed to enhancing the quality of life in rural communities. This initiative focuses on delivering water and sanitation facilities directly to households by constructing piped water systems with in-home connections. Additionally, it empowers communities to build their own toilets and bathing rooms.

Adopting a 100% participation approach, the program ensures inclusivity by involving the poorest and most marginalized members of the community. It fosters collective effort across caste, class, and gender, uniting the entire village around a shared purpose.
