KEC International Limited, through its Pehlay Akshar Foundation, strives to enhance educational quality and promote English literacy for students. In collaboration with government bodies, it creates supportive learning environments and introduces programmes that improve both teaching methods and student engagement. For over 12 years, Pehlay Akshar has focused on ensuring all children receive well-rounded education that equips them for future workplace demands. The foundation's initiatives are dedicated to fostering holistic development, with the aim of preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.

KEC International Limited prioritises community development by addressing the essential needs of local populations around its operational areas. It collaborates with government and local stakeholders to implement programmes that support health and well-being, adapting initiatives to suit evolving community needs. Recently, its efforts have focused on COVID-19 relief, including setting up Fever Clinics, distributing food and ration supplies, and donating medical equipment. In partnership with the National Health Mission in Maharashtra, it has established over 70 Fever Clinics in rural areas, providing affordable healthcare access and reinforcing support in challenging times.

KEC International Limited’s Heritage Project is dedicated to preserving and revitalising culturally significant sites. By highlighting the historical stories and legacies of such locations, the initiative seeks to engage the public in experiencing and appreciating heritage in innovative ways. A key effort under this project is the Banganga restoration in Mumbai, one of the city’s oldest sites with origins tracing back to the 9th century. This project includes activities like art installations, informational publications, and the installation of heritage-themed civic amenities to enhance public awareness and accessibility.

KEC International Limited leads environmental initiatives across land and water. Its Land Biodiversity Initiative creates green corridors in Mumbai and Pune, enhancing urban biodiversity through interconnected parks. These ecologically designed spaces support wildlife, improve air quality, and highlight local art. Through the One Trillion Trees Pledge, it also plants native trees in key areas.

To revive marine ecosystems, KEC has installed 227 artificial reefs in the Arabian Sea, fostering marine biodiversity and supporting coastal communities. In water conservation, it has built 20 farm ponds for rainwater harvesting, benefiting local groundwater levels, and restored a community pond.

Additionally, KEC promotes regenerative agriculture by guiding cotton farmers towards sustainable practices. It uses biodigesters to convert waste into biogas, providing clean energy and enriching soil. The organisation supports organic certification and fair market access for farmers through its Artisan:re programme.

KEC International Limited's Swayam programme focuses on empowering women and young people from underprivileged backgrounds by providing specialised skill training for employment. It offers training across various fields, including healthcare, logistics, construction, and IT, to enhance job readiness and career opportunities. Swayam aims to foster financial independence and self-reliance, enabling participants to achieve stable, dignified lives through meaningful employment.
