      Description

      In Chareda village, Rajasthan, a model farm pond project was initiated, resulting in the creation of 62 ponds on 5% of farmers' lands. This initiative is projected to conserve 4 crore liters of groundwater for irrigation, enhancing water availability in the region. The project also extended its impact by supporting cleanliness drives in Haryana and facilitating tree-planting efforts across various parts of India.

      The initiative further focused on raising awareness and education, developing waste management infrastructure, and maintaining public sanitation facilities. Key measures included the establishment of waste disposal systems and the distribution of sanitation kits comprising gloves, safety jackets, and mosquito repellents, achieved through active community engagement and collaboration with local authorities.

    • Preserving Biodiversity

      Description

      Conservation Leadership at Aravali Biodiversity Park, Gurugram
      The 380-acre Aravali Biodiversity Park in Gurugram, Haryana, showcases ecologically restored semi-arid vegetation, featuring 300 native plant species and over 183 bird species. Conservation efforts, guided by a comprehensive survey from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and a floral biodiversity assessment by INTACH, focus on preserving green cover, groundwater, carbon sequestration, and oxygen generation.

      In Jahota, Jaipur, Rajasthan, a tree plantation initiative, in collaboration with 100 local villagers, has fostered green cover, enriched soil, and supported livelihoods through fruit tree plantations. This initiative strengthens the bond between farmers and the environment.

      Water Conservation Initiatives
      Efforts across Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat include rainwater harvesting, check dam construction, pond restoration, and enhancing water storage. In Rajasthan’s Neemrana, a key manufacturing hub, 91 recharge shafts spanning 58 sq. km were built, with a water harvesting potential of 1.63 million cubic meters annually.

      In partnership with the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, Project Gurujal addresses district-wide water conservation through public awareness, education, and innovative water management solutions.

      The Young Earth Heroes program empowers school students with a unique "awareness to action" approach to measure and reduce carbon footprints. Engaging 10 schools across Delhi NCR, the initiative fosters understanding of environmental challenges and promotes sustainable practices through curated sessions and actionable steps.

      By assessing environmental impacts, teaching strategies to reduce carbon footprints, and emphasizing collective action, the program inspires students to become environmental stewards. It aims to nurture a generation of “Green Heroes” equipped to address critical environmental issues and drive meaningful change.

    • Building An Equitable World

      Description

      Women across 10 cities enrolled in three-month two-wheeler technician and allied courses, aiming for placements or establishing their workshops. The initiative, led by ASDC, addresses the skilling gap by offering training and job opportunities for women in the Indian automotive sector.

      Hero MotoCorp, through its ‘Hero We Care’ initiative, supports grassroots sports development across multiple disciplines. In partnership with the Paralympic Committee of India, the company aids athletes and para-athletes in their training and holistic development.

      The initiatives focus on creating livelihoods for women, improving access to education and healthcare, supporting differently-abled athletes, and enabling digital connectivity in remote rural areas, fostering opportunities and hope.

      Hero MotoCorp has supported the establishment of the Veerangana Sewa Kendra (VSK), a single-window facility addressing welfare and grievance redressal for Indian Army widows and next-of-kin, serving numerous families monthly.

      In collaboration with the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA), Hero MotoCorp also set up CHETNA centers to address the developmental needs of children with neurodevelopmental disorders. These centers offer parent support groups, a toy library, and professional services, including clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. Within six months, the initiative has led to significant neurological progress for several children.

    • Road Safety Awareness Program

      Description

      Hero MotoCorp runs a comprehensive road safety initiative, including awareness campaigns, two-wheeler riding training schools, and the nationwide #BeARoadHero digital campaign. The company provides safe riding techniques and responsible road behavior training at its Hero Two-Wheeler Riding Training Schools. In partnership with local police, the initiative is expanding to other states.

      Focusing on the 10 states with the highest two-wheeler accidents, Hero MotoCorp also conducts the Surukshit Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign, educating citizens about helmet safety and the importance of carrying safety kits, reaching riders across multiple cities.
