Functioning as a charitable trust, the Centre is overseen by a diverse board of trustees. It is also included in the Directory of Programs, Centers, and Projects of the International Consortium of Critical Theory Programs (ICCTP) at UC Berkeley. The Centre serves scholars and individuals from various fields, promoting dialogue and idea exchange while avoiding intellectual elitism. It aims to introduce fresh perspectives and methodologies, thus fostering a deeper understanding of human sciences and practical strategies for dealing with life's complexities.

Academic Programmes and Publications
The Centre conducts numerous academic programmes across Baroda and India, including the annual Balvant Parekh Memorial Lecture, workshops, seminars on general semantics, symposia, and certificate courses in collaboration with educational institutions. Renamed in 2013, the lecture honours Balvantbhai’s legacy. The Centre publishes an Annual Report, books on general semantics, and the biannual journal Anekaant: A Journal of Polysemic Thought, fostering scholarly discourse in allied fields.

Balvant Parekh Distinguished Lectures
It regularly organizes the Balvant Parekh Distinguished Lectures, featuring notable speakers from various academic fields. For example, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, a University Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University, discussed "Teaching Literature Today" in 2011. In 2012, Arjun Appadurai, Goddard Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, spoke on "Disciplining India’s Diversity." Additionally, Nicholas D. Mirzoeff, a Professor in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, delivered a lecture on "Image Worlds and Image Wars: Interpreting Global Visual Culture" in 2010. Through such events, it fosters intellectual engagement and exchange.
