Programs

  • Empowering Rural Livelihoods through Solar Khadi

Under REC’s initiative, a Solar Khadi Unit has been established at the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in Varanasi. This integrated facility supports khadi weaving, spinning, and garment production powered by solar energy, promoting sustainability and self-reliance. In addition to the central unit, 13 satellite khadi institutions have been set up in the surrounding region, further expanding employment opportunities and rural development. The initiative aligns with India's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, fostering eco-friendly practices while preserving traditional craftsmanship.

  • Quality Education & Nutrition for Tribal Children

The “Quality Education & Nutrition for Tribal Children” program is a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting tribal communities by addressing their educational and nutritional needs. With only 59% literacy among tribal populations (Census 2011), the program supports 1,541 children across 11 seva-kutirs in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, providing safe learning spaces, nutritious meals, and basic necessities. Additionally, a residential facility for 150 tribal girls was constructed in Sehore, ensuring a secure and supportive environment for their academic growth. This initiative is a step toward inclusive development and empowerment of underprivileged tribal children.
