Programs

  • Prerana Women's Health Initiative

    Established in 2005 by the Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII), the Prerana Women's Health Initiative offers affordable, high-quality healthcare to low-income women in Mysore and surrounding villages. The program has provided medical services to over 20,000 women and health education to more than 50,000 community members. Its comprehensive services include screenings for cardiac issues, diabetes, anemia, cervical and breast cancers, as well as education and screening for sexually transmitted diseases and family planning. Additionally, Prerana integrates clinical research with patient care to enhance evidence-based practices.

  • The Mobile Medical Clinic

    The Mobile Medical Clinic by the Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII) brings essential healthcare services to underserved rural communities around Mysore. Launched through the Kisalaya Program, it focuses on antenatal care, HIV testing, and prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission. With mobile units and trained professionals, the initiative has reached thousands of women, raising awareness and offering life-saving interventions. Programs like cervical cancer screening and community health education are key components, ensuring early detection and support.
