Self-employment training and entrepreneurship skill development program initiated by the Odisha Skill Development Project (OSDP). Swakalpa aims to equip 10,000 ambitious youth with the necessary skills and knowledge on Self-employment & entrepreneurship & establish at least 1,000 micro-businesses in the state of Odisha. With a strong emphasis on gender equality and inclusivity, Swakalpa endeavours to ensure a minimum 25% representation of women at all stages, from training to entrepreneurship.

Under the hub and spoke model, WSC acts as the hub and the ITI / Polytechnics spread across the state act as the spokes andWSc support all ITIs/Polytechnics in the areas of staff capability development through various Technical as well as Non-Technical Trainings.

The World Skill Centre, in collaboration with the Mission Shakti Department, is actively supporting women-led entrepreneurial initiatives across the state. Mission Shakti, the state’s nodal agency for Women Self-Help Groups (WSHGs), aims to empower women by promoting economic independence. This is achieved through improved access to financial resources, skill development for self-employment, and support for entrepreneurial ventures, integrating them into the formal economy.

The World Skill Centre is a premier institution for advanced skills training, dedicated to creating globally employable professionals. It serves as the key knowledge and skilling partner of Mission Shakti.
