Beginning with just five individuals, the Bengaluru Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) has expanded significantly to support nu Read moremerous MS patients. Through its bi-monthly program “Prayatna,” the chapter provides a platform for patients and families to share experiences, engage socially, and enjoy cultural activities. It also receives guidance from a medical advisory panel comprising top neurologists and neurosurgeons. Renowned institutions like NIMHANS and Vikram Hospital extend vital medical support to their members. As part of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF), the chapter offers comprehensive services such as hospital admissions, physiotherapy, home visits, mobility aids, counselling, vocational training, and monthly medical reimbursements. Regular group meetings and events foster emotional well-being and social interaction, enhancing the overall quality of life for MS patients and their families.

Prayatna
The “Prayatna” programme, organised every two months, serves as a supportive gathering where individuals with Multiple Sclerosis connect with fellow members and their families. It offers a space to share personal experiences, emotions, and challenges in a compassionate environment. Alongside meaningful conversations, the program includes entertainment and cultural activities, fostering a sense of community, emotional relief, and mutual encouragement among participants.

MS Awareness Session – Bengaluru
On February 24th, 2024, the MSSI Bengaluru Chapter hosted an MS Awareness Session at the PMSSY Seminar Hall, Victoria Hospital Compound, in honour of India MS Day. Centred around the theme “#InsureMyMS,” the event aimed to spread awareness and support for persons with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS). A powerful film on MS, developed with support from Bosch, highlighted the organisation’s ongoing efforts toward advocacy and education.
