DescriptionThe Adani Foundation is dedicated to improving community health by building and strengthening healthcare institutions and ensuring access to services from primary to tertiary care, including doorstep delivery. The objective is to provide quality and affordable healthcare to vulnerable populations, reaching the last mile.
Its key interventions include Mobile Health Care Units, wellness centers, rural clinics, health camps, and the establishment and operation of multi-specialty hospitals. Through the SuPoshan programme, the Foundation addresses malnutrition and anemia among children (0-5 years), adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women, and women of reproductive age.
Fortune SuPoshan is a community-driven initiative designed to combat malnutrition and anemia among children (0-5 years), adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers, and women of reproductive age.
Within this initiative, "SuPoshan Sanginis" serve as village-level health volunteers, playing a vital role in screening children under five using WHO-based anthropometric measurements for wasting categories and referring Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) children to Nutritional Rehabilitation Centers (NRCs). They also work to raise awareness on essential topics, including the importance of the first 1,000 days of life, infant and young child feeding practices, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and proper utilization of Take Home Rations (THR).
Additionally, the initiative promotes cooking demonstrations using locally available nutritious food and encourages Nutri Gardens to enhance household-level nutritional security. The SuPoshan Sanginis provide targeted counseling on critical health and nutrition issues, empowering communities to adopt healthier lifestyles.CauseStatesDemographicsImpactHouseholds impacted 2,46,252Nutri-gardens developed in vulnerable families 5,379Treatments provided at Adani healthcare facilities 44,549Trained Sanginis actively engaged 430Children, adolescent girls, women benefitted by Sangini support 2,74,883Family counselling sessions conducted about Infant & Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Practices 1,33,621Focused Group Discussions conducted to build awareness on Infant & Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Practices 45,135Cooking demonstrations organized 10,768Families benefitted from sanitation initiatives 18,600Supported NGOsPartners for Health and nutrition -
