Programs

  • Project Zardozi

Project Zardozi, part of the CSR initiative by DCM Shriram Foundation, aims to create livelihood opportunities for women in rural areas. In collaboration with Mon Ami Foundation, 50 women artisans from Loni, Hardoi, were trained in zardozi and other embroidery techniques to craft a festive collection inspired by the endangered Sarus Crane. This unique collection combines zardozi, crochet, and other art forms, resulting in elegant products like coasters, tea-light holders, and table runners, adding glamour to festive occasions.

  • Moonj Project

The Tharu community, known as the “people of the forests,” has been practising the art of weaving intricate baskets from Moonj grass for over 60 years. Despite traditional techniques being overshadowed by modern alternatives, there is a growing opportunity for Moonj grass products in the international market. Mon Ami Foundation, in collaboration with USN District and JBGVS, has supported Tharu women artisans, introducing modern designs and techniques through online training and workshops, enhancing market adaptability and global reach.
