    Description

    Description

  • Community Healthcare

    Description

    REACH - Initiated in 2014 and developed based on a community needs assessment, REACH is a child healthcare-focused initiative and the flagship program of the UNM Foundation.

    Outreach activities - Under this program, baseline screening camps are conducted across various villages in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Diu, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Children are screened for anaemia and malnutrition, with necessary interventions implemented to support their health and well-being.

    Swadhar, the Community Health Care Centre - Started in September 2012, Swadhar caters to the healthcare needs of the locals from the 20 tribal villages surrounding SUGEN Plant (Gujarat).

  • Community Connection Through Education

    Description

    Shiksha Setu Project - Initiated in 2011, the project was designed to bring tangible improvements in the quality of primary education at selected schools. In FY24, Phase III of the Shiksha Setu Project continued, focusing on strengthening both ends of the education system—enhancing teacher training and ensuring student enrollment with equal opportunities. Beyond educational support, the project also contributed to infrastructure development and introduced innovation-driven solutions to further enrich the learning environment.

    * The Learning Enhancement Programme (LEP) aims to ensure age-appropriate competencies in reading and arithmetic for students in grades 3 to 8. During FY24, the programme reached over 11,000 students, enhancing foundational learning.

    * E-Learning - Leveraging technology as an enabler, the programme introduced various digital learning tools, including sLate (a teaching tool), sLearn (a self-learning platform), and sLquiz (an assessment tool). In FY24, the Project E-Learning expanded significantly, increasing its reach from 13 to 42 schools.

    * Second Chance Programme (SCP) - The Second Chance Programme offers students who previously failed their Grade 10 board exams another opportunity to prepare and reattempt, supporting their academic progression.

    * Vocational Skills Development Programme - To ensure sustained impact, the UNM Foundation continued providing employment support to students who had completed the first year of their Vocational Training Programme, enhancing their career prospects.

    * SuGanitam - As part of Project Shiksha Setu, the SuGanitam initiative piloted interventions to address misconceptions in mathematics, helping students develop a stronger conceptual understanding.

    * Anganwadi - Recognizing the importance of early childhood education, Project Anganwadi was introduced in FY24 under Project Shiksha Setu. The initiative focuses on overcoming persistent challenges in early learning, laying a strong foundation for future academic success.

    Description

    Pratiti: Public Park Development and Maintenance - The Pratiti programme is dedicated to creating and maintaining accessible, sustainable green spaces for public leisure and recreation.

    Palitana Hills Project - As part of this initiative, approximately 4,000 plants have been planted to date. Additionally, a nursery structure has been established on forest land to facilitate the storage of plants and seeds for future plantation efforts.

    Description

    Donations are made to various charitable organizations to support a wide range of social causes. These initiatives include providing medical services such as free health check-ups, eye examinations, distribution of free spectacles, and wheelchairs for physically disabled individuals. Contributions also support the installation of a passenger lift for Divyang girls, organization of blood donation camps, and improvement of facilities for ailing and weak cows at gaushalas. Additionally, efforts extend to preserving cultural heritage, promoting scientific research for the benefit of farmers and rural youth, environmental conservation, educational activities, scholarships for underprivileged children, and the promotion of sports.
