YMCA Trivandrum

In 1976, under the leadership of Mr. P.K. Koruth, the YMCA Rural Development Centre was established on 17 acres in Aruvikkara. The centre introduced Intensive Cultivation, integrating crops like coconut, cocoa, nutmeg, and banana to boost agricultural productivity and sustainability. A Boys Home was initiated in 1977, providing shelter and education to 25 destitute boys. The centre launched three non-formal education centres for elderly rural women and ten tuition centres for students, reflecting a commitment to holistic community development and agricultural education.

The YMCA Trivandrum offers a diverse array of facilities catering to accommodation, conferences, and sports. Accommodation options include the International Guest House, K George Hostel, and the Youth Centre at Vettinad. For events and gatherings, the association provides several halls such as the PK Koruth Auditorium, KC Eapen Hall, Dr. A Abraham Hall, Rev. Mateer Memorial Hall, Mini Hall, and halls at RDC Vettinad and Aruvikkara. Sports enthusiasts can utilise the Futsal Turf at Vettinad and the Table Tennis Academy. These facilities underscore the association's commitment to fostering community engagement and holistic development.
