With Read more over 80 years of experience, TMC is globally recognised for its work in oncology, focusing on prevention, treatment, and innovation. It provides patient-centred care through specialised teams that address medical and emotional needs. The centre leads research in cancer biology, clinical trials, and community screening. Supported by the Department of Atomic Energy, it plays a key role in the National Cancer Grid, connecting over 300 institutions to improve standards and encourage collaboration. As part of its expansion, TMC aims to make cancer care more accessible while maintaining its commitment to excellence.

    Tata Memorial Hospital has been committed to cancer education and research since its inception, with strong support from the Dorabji Tata Trust. It has trained Indian doctors in oncology, ensuring expertise in diagnosis and treatment. The hospital formally established its academic division in 1982 and is now affiliated with Homi Bhabha National Institute, offering various graduate and postgraduate courses, including MS, MD, PhD, and MSc. It conducts specialised training programmes and supports medical professionals through workshops, seminars, and continuing education initiatives. Despite changes in university affiliations, it continues to provide hands-on experience in surgery and pathology while funding cancer education. Recognised by the International Union Against Cancer, it serves as a key coordination centre for professional cancer training in the Asia-Pacific region, fostering knowledge-sharing and expertise development.

  • Patient Navigation Programme - KEVAT

    District

    Tata Memorial Hospital has launched the Patient Navigation Program – KEVAT to support cancer patients throughout their treatment journey. It aims to train professionals to assist patients from diagnosis to recovery, including palliative and end-of-life care. In collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Tata Trusts, it has introduced India’s first full-time, one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Patient Navigation. This programme seeks to establish a structured support system, helping patients access timely and coordinated care.
