The Sagar Science Forum (SSF), established in 2011 as a public charitable trust under the Indian Trust Act, is a dedicated non-profit organization com Read moremitted to fostering scientific temper and curiosity among students and teachers in the rural regions of Karnataka, particularly in and around Sagar, Shivamogga district . Founded by a collective of passionate educators and science enthusiasts, SSF aims to bridge the gap in science education by providing interactive learning experiences and resources to communities with limited access to quality scientific education. With a network of over 200 active scientists and educators, SSF has been instrumental in organizing a variety of programs designed to ignite interest in science from an early age. Key initiatives include 'Vignana Manthana', a monthly program introducing high school and pre-university students to fundamental concepts in science and mathematics; the annual 'INSPIRE Workshop', a three-day interactive science camp for 11th standard students; and 'Teachers' Orientation Workshops' aimed at enhancing the pedagogical skills of high school teachers . Recognizing the need for a dedicated space to facilitate hands-on scientific exploration, SSF is in the process of establishing the Sagar Science Centre. This forthcoming facility will feature laboratories, a digital lab, a library, and spaces for model-making and exhibitions, serving as a hub for innovation and experiential learning for students and educators alike .

Vignana Manthana
Vignana Manthana is an engaging science outreach program designed for high school and PU students. Initially launched as Ganitha Manthana with a focus on mathematics, it later expanded to encompass all branches of science. Held monthly on Sundays, each session features a renowned scientist and an esteemed professor from top research institutions who interact with students of classes 9 and 10. Through captivating discussions on scientific concepts and emerging trends, the program fosters curiosity and scientific thinking. On average, 60 to 70 students actively participate in each session, making it a dynamic platform for young learners.

INSPIRE Science Workshop
The INSPIRE Science Workshop is an annual three-day camp designed for 11th standard students, modeled after the INSPIRE Internship Science Camps by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. This workshop provides students with a unique opportunity to interact directly with eminent scientists. It features a variety of creative and interactive science-based activities and experiments aimed at fostering curiosity and deeper understanding. Through hands-on learning and personal engagement, the program inspires young minds to explore and appreciate the world of science.
