About
Gramhal is a non-profit organization that champions the concept of a data cooperative as a means to foster sustainable farmlands and support the long- Read moreterm well-being of farming families. Information asymmetry affects over 50 million farmers in India, a challenge that is being intensified by climate change. Despite their efforts to access information from various sources, most platforms fall short of delivering insights that are credible, contextual, real-time, and actionable. As a result, farmers remain reliant on their limited peer networks. Gramhal believes that technology can overcome these silos by connecting farmers to a broader digital network of shared knowledge. Moreover, lasting empowerment can only be achieved when such a digital platform is collectively owned and governed by the farmers themselves.

Bolbhav
Gramhal has developed Bolbhav, a digital platform created to explore the viability of data-sharing behaviors among farmers. In 2023, Bolbhav was piloted in a specific region, where it successfully demonstrated that farmers are not only willing to contribute their data but also to pay for access to collective insights.
