Impact

HCL Foundation has positively impacted over 6.5 million lives, reaching more than 13,500 persons with disabilities since FY 2019-20, with 35% being female. It has facilitated the harvesting of over 81 billion litres of water, greened and brought 72,000+ acres of land under community management, and planted 2.12 million saplings to promote environmental sustainability.

Programs

  • Samuday

    Samuday is an initiative by HCL Foundation aimed at improving rural communities through a participatory approach. It encourages residents to identify challenges, collaborate on solutions, and take responsibility for implementation. The program provides professional support to ensure long-term sustainability and community-driven development. By fostering ownership among local populations, it seeks to create lasting positive change in rural areas.

  • HCLTech Grant

    HCLTech Grant, launched in 2015 by HCL Foundation, is a CSR initiative that strengthens and supports NGOs in India. It recognises impactful projects addressing key social and environmental challenges. Initially, it awarded grants to winning NGOs in Environment, Health, and Education. In Edition XI, it expanded to include Water and Biodiversity. Winning NGOs in each category receive ₹ 5 Crore (~US$0.65 Million) for a four-year project, while runner-ups receive ₹ 25 lakhs (~US$0.03 Million) for a year-long initiative. The Grant aims to empower NGOs with proven credibility and measurable impact, focusing on marginalised rural communities and sustainable socio-economic development.

  • Uday

    Uday is an urban CSR initiative by HCL Foundation that promotes equitable and sustainable development for vulnerable city populations. It operates in 11 cities where HCLTech is present, working to build clean, healthy, and empowered communities. The program takes an integrated approach, addressing key aspects of well-being such as health, education, sports, livelihoods, and skills development. It follows a life-cycle model, supporting individuals from infancy to old age. By fostering collaboration among communities, non-profits, governments, and HCL employees, it leverages collective strengths to create lasting social impact.

  • My Clean City

    My Clean City is an initiative by HCL Foundation aimed at improving solid waste management in Noida. As the city rapidly expands, the volume of municipal waste increases, necessitating a long-term strategy. Recognising this need, it has partnered with the Noida Authority to enhance waste management systems and support efforts to make Noida one of the cleanest cities in India. Through this initiative, it seeks to implement effective services and solutions for sustainable urban cleanliness.

  • Harit

    Harit is an environmental initiative by HCL Foundation focused on conserving, restoring, and enhancing indigenous ecosystems while addressing climate change. Initially part of a broader urban CSR program, it evolved into a flagship effort promoting sustainable environmental action through community engagement. The program develops scalable and replicable models that are economically viable, socially inclusive, and environmentally sustainable. By working closely with local communities, it implements effective strategies to combat climate change, environmental degradation, and biodiversity loss.
