The Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD) is a premier Indian apex body dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities through vocation Read moreal training, skill development, and inclusive workforce integration. Established with the mission to foster equitable employment opportunities, SCPwD develops and implements National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Qualification Packs (QP) tailored to diverse job roles and accessibility needs. Functioning under a collaborative model, the Council coordinates closely with employers, training partners, and government agencies to build capacity across industries. Its structured approach ensures workplace readiness—from inclusive infrastructure and assistive aids to sensitization of employers and staff. SCPwD offers a broad portfolio of certification programs, including “Job Coach for Inclusivity,” which equips individuals with skills and knowledge to support onboarding, provide post-placement assistance, assess performance, and communicate effectively—such as in basic Indian Sign Language. These initiatives are rigorously designed in line with National Occupational Standards. Headquartered at City Centre, Dwarka, New Delhi, SCPwD’s governance includes regular review processes to ensure the relevance and quality of its QPs. With multiple NOS units—such as onboarding facilitation, policy implementation, and performance evaluation—its services span training delivery, policy advocacy, and employer engagement.

Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Skill Development & Employment
