Intellectually Disabled (ID) girl students in Telangana face a high school dropout rate, currently around 80% in special schools. This has long-term impacts on their personal growth, independence, and inclusion in society. The lack of awareness among families, limited disability-friendly teaching techniques, and poor inclusive infrastructure contribute to this problem. UVARD aims to reduce this dropout rate to less than 15% by 2028 in Medchal-Malkajgiri district by supporting special schools, training teachers, engaging families, and providing individual learning support.
