Aaranyak's Legal and Advocacy Division (LAD) plays a pivotal role in curbing wildlife crimes, particularly poaching and illegal trade. Through its Wildlife Crime Monitoring Project (WCMP) and the "DETERS" initiative, LAD monitors wildlife offenders' modus operandi, analyzes the causation of wildlife crimes, and collaborates with enforcement agencies to devise effective strategies. The division conducts workshops to sensitize agencies, trains frontline forest staff, engages non-wildlife sectors, and raises awareness through media platforms. LAD also organises legal orientation workshops, pursues Public Interest Litigations, and maintains a K-9 Dog Squad of Belgian Malinois dogs to aid forest and police officials in tracking down poachers. With its comprehensive approach, LAD aims to end illegal wildlife trafficking and conserve endangered species.

The initiative not only enhances livelihoods but also fosters ecological balance. Plans include exhibitions of self-help group products, market linkages, and training spokespersons for wildlife conservation advocacy. Aaranyak aims to expand successful models, deepen community involvement in conservation, and explore sustainable income-generation opportunities for holistic upliftment.
