It has been more than a year since the launch of our Integrated Program for Welfare of Women and Children (IPWWC). The organisation serves 45 children with three complete meals daily (including breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
The women are trained to craft bamboo brooms. With a small initial investment from the organisation, the women are able to kickstart their bamboo broom business. These women, who once relied on various unfair means for their livelihoods, are now self-sufficient, proud, and capable of producing and selling 100-200 bamboo brooms daily.
The non-formal education center has earned recognition as a Special Training Centre under the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) in Kamrup(M). The organisation has expanded this program to three new areas: Dharbam, 2no Robingaon, and Paschim Killing in the Kamrup district. The organisation implements the Child Nutrition Program, Garden Cultivation and Management, Life Skills, and Self-Employability Training in the schools.
