Over the years, the organization has evolved into a trusted beacon of hope and inclusion. Today, Shishu Sarothi is recognized for its comprehensive approach, offering services such as early intervention, education, advocacy, vocational training, and community-based rehabilitation. Its work has touched countless lives, helping individuals with disabilities unlock their potential and live with dignity and independence. Through its tireless efforts and unwavering dedication, Shishu Sarothi continues to inspire and drive change, building a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Early Intervention Program
StateThe Early Intervention Program focuses on the neuroplasticity of the brain, leveraging the critical 0-6 years period for optimal development. It offers early detection, screening, and management of high-risk babies and children with developmental delays and disabilities. Through play-based methods, children are assessed across physical, cognitive, language, and social domains, ensuring active engagement. Therapies and home management strategies are shared with parents for sustained progress. Operating from multiple centers across Assam, including Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Golaghat, and Sibsagar, the program annually benefits over 1,500 families, transforming lives through targeted interventions and milestone achievements.

The Disability Law Unit
The Disability Law Unit (DLU) is a pioneering initiative dedicated to fostering awareness and advocacy for the rights of persons with disabilities as enshrined in law. Through its programs, the DLU has reached over 50,000 stakeholders, including rights holders and duty bearers, promoting the effective implementation of disability-related laws. It supports 40-50 pro bono and public interest litigations annually, addressing grievances and safeguarding rights. The DLU-NE has established a robust network of 70+ disability organizations in Northeast India, while its expert team provides regular legal training for bureaucrats and civil officials.
