During the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, it distributed masks made of khadi and hand sanitizer bottles among the media persons of Demow. It is a statutory body that was formed by the Assam government in 1974-75 to spread awareness against drugs and alcohol. It was formed under three Acts namely, The Assam Liquor Prohibition Act, 1952, The Opium Prohibition Act, 1947 and The Assam Ganja and Bhang Prohibition Act, 1958.
